HOT ExciteLab alumni ChemReclaim secures first funding round

18.08.2026

Congratulations to ExciteLab startup ChemReclaim on successfully closing its first funding round, backed by Horizon Flevoland, Rabobank and Loyal VC.  The startup develops high-performance nanopowders and ultra-thin coatings made from rare-earth and precious metals. By engineering these materials at the nanoscale, ChemReclaim enables manufacturers to achieve high performance while using significantly less metal, helping to reduce material consumption, costs and dependency on scarce resources.

Moreover, the team is working on recovering valuable critical metals from industrial waste streams and converting them into advanced materials that can be reused in high-tech applications. The technology is relevant for industries like semiconductors, energy and hydrogen and aerospace. With the new financing, ChemReclaim is now taking the next important step by moving its technology from the lab towards industrial validation.

ExciteLab startup veiio has successfully closed its first financing.

08.07.2026

Veiio has closed its first financing round, with SBG – Sächsische Beteiligungsgesellschaft participating in the investment round. The startup from Dresden is developing an intelligent training shirt for patients with back pain. The shirt integrates high-precision sensors that capture every movement in 3D. An AI engine analyzes the data in real time and provides local vibration feedback directly on the body. This gives patients immediate corrective guidance during their exercises, similar to the support of a physiotherapist. Through the accompanying app, patients receive step-by-step instructions, personalized corrections and a clear visualization of their progress. At the same time, a therapist dashboard enables healthcare professionals to supervise their patients’ training continuously and effectively. With the newly secured financing, veiio can now implement its first pilot applications together with practice partners.

€3.2 mio. funding for RootCamp startup Seqana

18.06.2026

The funding round was led by Pymwymic, with participation from High-Tech Gründerfonds and Counteract. The startup from RootCamp batch #3 helps companies and farmers better understand and measure soil health. Seqana uses satellite data, digital soil maps and machine learning to do this at scale, reducing the need for costly and time-consuming soil sampling. At the core is soil organic carbon, an important indicator of how healthy, fertile and resilient a soil is. This enables companies to credibly track progress in regenerative agriculture and make better decisions for their supply chains.

Strengthen Deep-Tech Startups in Central Germany

15.06.2026

Deep tech needs more than strong technology. It needs market access, pilot customers, funding, and an ecosystem that consistently turns research into scalable business models. That is why we are excited to announce our strategic partnership with Startup Factory boOst Mitteldeutschland, ExciteLab and SpinLab.

By joining forces, we are combining three key strengths:

🚀 SpinLab’s startup and scaling expertise
🔬 ExciteLab’s transfer and technology know-how
🤝 boOst Startup Factory’s strong regional network of universities, research institutions, industry partners, and investors

Especially in fields such as semiconductors, photonics, healthtech, robotics, sensors, quantum technologies, and industrial technologies, we see enormous potential for internationally visible innovation emerging from Dresden, Leipzig, and the wider region.

We are looking forward to the next phase of collaboration, working to strengthen Central Germany as innovation hub.

Alumni-Exit: Vesputi acquired by British group Tracsis

15.04.2026

The British technology group Tracsis plc has announced the acquisition of Vesputi, a digital ticketing specialist and alumni of the 6th SpinLab batch, with a transaction volume of up to €8.2 million. From the very beginning, we’ve had the pleasure of supporting the Vesputi team. From shaping the team setup and refining the product to assisting with fundraising. It’s been a great journey to watch their progress and growth over time. To this day, Vesputi is still based in the SpinLab office, which makes this milestone even more special for us.
